  1. If you want to get rid of red you use something with an ash base. I would still throw 1/4 neutral base so you don’t turn too cool.

  2. From my experience the red always shows through after a while. You’re probably better off going to a salon and getting a toner put through it.

  3. yes. do not use anything w/ the words: warm, honey, caramel, bronze, etc. in the title–they all connotate or mean ‘red’ and WILL bring out the red in your hair. I believe however that using Ash tones on red CAN cause a green to show up if not left on long enough or somthing. BEST THING IS TO TRY A TEMPORARY WASH-IN color–they wash out in 6-12 shampoos!

    OR go professional; an allover color shouldn’t be all that expensive done at a salon. You can easily do toner at home too–go to Sally Beauty Supply or similar. They sell toners you can use to cancel out the red, but you need to know what strength developer, etc., to use so still need some pro advice.
