What’s the difference between mahogany and auburn hair color?

Aren’t they both a somewhat reddish-brown hair color? Or am I completely wrong about this?

Mahogany is darker with a deep red tint and auburn is a dark sort of ginger

yeah they are reddish i have had both of those colours before and i cant really see a difference x

Auburn is a pretty name for RED. Mahogany is a pretty name for RED-VIOLET.
