I’ve really wanted to dye my brunette hair a red/auburn for a long time now. I don’t want to spend too much money so a box set would be preferred, but getting it done professionally is an option. Any tips? Are the results of getting it done professionally much better? If I should use a box set what kind should I get?

I have dyed my hair myself for years, use Preference by L’Oreal- but if your hair is very long or this would be a drastic change in hair color, I would have a professional do it.
