I dyed my hair med auburn but the result is that the roots is auburn and the tips remain at the original shade?

My hair its originally med brown and i dyed it black a month ago. Wanted to dyed it med auburn. Ends up the roots were auburn but the tips were around medium brown. why is that?>

  1. You need to buy a hair stripper. Its called Colour before. Or you may have to buy a hair dye where you have to lighten your hair then put the colour you want on after you have pre-lightened it. A red colour wont show over any dark hair colours. Medium brown which is natural will take a red/auburn colour but if you have dyed your hair black then you really need to strip the colour out before you get to your desired colour.
